SurveyMitra ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Ankit Izardar, based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. We are committed to protecting the privacy of every person who uses our platform — whether as a customer booking a land survey appointment or as a registered surveyor receiving leads.

This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights over it. By using surveymitra.com, you accept these practices.

1. Who This Policy Covers

  • Customers: Individuals who book private land survey appointments through our platform
  • Surveyors: Independent professionals who register on the platform to receive survey leads
  • Visitors: Anyone who browses surveymitra.com without registering

2. Information We Collect

2.1 From Customers (Appointment Booking)

  • Identity: Full name, phone number, email address
  • Property Details: State, district, tehsil, village, pincode, land size (Bigha), service type (Agricultural / Plot Boundary / Land Division / Other)
  • Appointment Details: Preferred survey date, special instructions
  • Payment Data: Razorpay order ID, payment ID, transaction signature — we do NOT store card/UPI numbers

2.2 From Surveyors (Registration)

  • Identity: Full name, phone number, email address
  • Service Area: State, district, tehsil (determines lead auto-assignment)
  • Account: Hashed password, role, active/blocked status, pending commission count
  • Commission Records: Amount, payment status, Razorpay payment ID, invoice number

2.3 Automatically Collected

  • IP address, browser type, device info
  • Pages visited, time on site (via Google Analytics)
  • Meta Pixel data for ad performance measurement
  • JWT authentication tokens (stored client-side in localStorage)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Appointment Fulfillment: Auto-assign appointment to a qualified surveyor in the customer's tehsil/district
  • Lead Delivery: Share customer name, phone, address with the assigned surveyor so they can conduct the survey
  • Commission Management: Track surveyor payment of ₹500 commission per completed appointment; block surveyor from new leads if ≥2 commissions are unpaid
  • Invoice Generation: Generate GST Tax Invoice PDF upon commission payment and email it to the surveyor
  • Notifications: Send appointment confirmation SMS/email to customers; send overdue survey reminders to surveyors (Day 3, 5, 7)
  • Platform Security: Verify Razorpay payment signatures; validate JWT tokens; enforce role-based access (customer / surveyor / admin)
  • Analytics: Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to measure marketing effectiveness
  • Legal Compliance: Retain transaction and commission records as required under Indian tax law

4. Information Sharing

4.1 With Assigned Surveyor

When your appointment is confirmed, the following data is shared with the assigned surveyor: your name, phone number, property tehsil/district/village/pincode, service type, and scheduled date. This is essential for the surveyor to contact you and perform the survey.

4.2 With Third-Party Service Providers

  • Razorpay: Payment gateway — processes customer booking fees and surveyor commission payments (PCI DSS compliant)
  • Hostinger SMTP: Sends transactional emails (confirmations, invoices, reminders)
  • Msg91 / SMS Gateway: Sends appointment confirmation SMS to customers and surveyors
  • Vercel: Hosting and serverless API infrastructure
  • MongoDB Atlas: Database hosting (India region)
  • Google Analytics / Meta Pixel: Usage analytics and ad attribution

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose data to law enforcement or government authorities when required by Indian law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of SurveyMitra and its users.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for any commercial or marketing purpose.

5. Data Security

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Passwords hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
  • JWT tokens used for session management with role-based access control
  • Razorpay signature verification for every payment event
  • Admin, surveyor, and customer data strictly role-separated on the backend
  • CRON endpoints protected by a server-side secret (never exposed to browser)

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you promptly as required by applicable law.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use the following cookies and tracking technologies:

  • Authentication: JWT token stored in localStorage to keep you logged in
  • Google Analytics (_ga, _gid): Anonymous traffic measurement
  • Meta Pixel (_fbp): Ad campaign performance tracking

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. This may affect login functionality.

7. Data Retention

  • Appointment records: Retained for 7 years (GST/tax compliance)
  • Commission & Invoice records: Retained for 7 years
  • Surveyor accounts: Retained while the account is active; deleted upon verified written request (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Customer data: Retained for the duration of the account and 7 years post-service for audit purposes

8. Your Rights (Under Indian IT Act & DPDP Act 2023)

  • Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account (subject to legal retention requirements for financial records)
  • Grievance Redressal: Contact our Grievance Officer below for privacy complaints

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for individuals 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you suspect a minor has submitted their data, contact us immediately for deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
